The title of Sith Lord is awarded to those with a powerful mastery of Sith knowledge. Originally the title was given to any high ranking member of the Sith Society. While both sexes may be referred to as a Sith Lord, a female Sith Lord may also be referred to as a Sith Lady. Often times the Darth prefix is added to the title. The title of Sith Lord is similar to the title of its counterpart, the Jedi Master.
