Since there will be spacecrafts and transport ships, they will probably weapons on them. Most spacecrafts carry Laser Cannons on them for defense and attack. They might even be there just for show. This link http://www.space.com/images/h_star-wars-laser-cannon_03.jpg shows a Laser Cannon on a fighter. These type of weapons are normally found on any Star Wars ships. Laser Cannons were originally made for blasting space debris. Debris such as asteroids and lost spacecraft parts. The cannon got its name because of the Blasting Gas used to energize the laser. After a while, Space Pirates adapted their ships with these lasers for more effective raids. After this idea, most starships were equiped with these lasers when the military found out about them.
