Planet Ilum
General Information
Planet Ilum is an ice planet home to the furry Gorgodons. Caverns containing Adegan crystals can also be found on the snow covered planet. These crystals have been used in the traditional Jedi training for the assembly of the light saber. These crystals have also been used to build Jedi temples. The crystals from Ilum only produce blue and green light saber beams, which is incidentally why Jedi light sabers appear as they do.
History
Ilum was used for the construction of Jedi light sabers. The Jedi, in order to keep the planet a secret, deliberately had the planet left off of star charts. Ilum was generally unknown by most non-Jedi.
