SWTOR MMORPG Game Overview
Star Wars: The Old Republic takes place around 3,500 years before the rise of Darth Vader in the Star Wars universe. The storyline of the game pics up about 300 years after the conclusion of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic(KOTOR). At the end of KOTOR Revan leaves on a mission to go explore rumors of a new Sith Empire. As time passes on Revan is never heard from again.
As the game SWTOR pics up where KOTOR left off the player discovers what has happened in the 300 years that are between the games. The Sith Empire has been growing unhindered in deep space after their last defeat. The Emperor has prolonged his life and is bent on seeking revenge by completely destroying the Republic. After patiently waiting, and calculating ,the Emperor has finally seized his moment of opportunity.
A surprise offensive was launched on the Republic by the Sith. Coruscant was utterly decimated and the Jedi Temple has been destroyed. The Supreme Chancelor was left with no other choice but to sign the Treaty of Coruscant, surrendering many outlying star systems.
Now as a player enters the game all factions are struggling to gain strength.
- The Sith Emperor has begun to pursue mysterious goals of his own and all power has been deffered to his Dark Lords as the training of the force-sensitive is underway.
- The Republic is struggling to gain a foothold as they too are attempting to train a new army of special forces.
- The Jedi have retreated to train their own on their homeworld of Tython as the Republic has lost faith in their ability to defend.
