Planet Dathomir
General Information
Planet Dathomir is considered to be a very beautiful place. Located in the Outer Rim Territories, it is slightly smaller than the planet of Coruscant. Dathomir remains vastly unexplored. Many lush forests, snow capped peaks, expansive deserts, oceans, and rolling rivers can be found on this virtually uninhabited planet. While its wild beauty preceeds it, Dathomir is also known for its sentient species, the rancor.
History
Dathomir was colonized by the reptilian Kwa around 100,000 BBY. An Infinite Gate was built upon the planet and used for travel, or as a superweapon when needed. Star Temples were also constructed near the gate. Despite the establishment of these impressive structures the Kwa began to rapidly degenerate. Understanding of what the loss of speech and understanding might do to the civilization, the Kwa sealed off the Infinite Gate and put guardians in place over it. The remaining Kwa became known as the Kwi and appeared to lived as nothing more than desert animals.
